We have called monthly since the case has closed and they give us run around. Filed a better business bureau complaint which was denied because they can't make complaints towards this company. We've ordered the exoneration paperwork and have given to the bondsman as well. We continue to call but they are no longer returning our calls.

I don't understand WHY a bailbondsman HAS your money. It's generally THEM who has the money, and that's why you GO to them.. If YOU had the money for bail, you wouldn't need a bondsman...

IF you're talking about what you PAID for the bond, I don't think you're going to get that back..

Maybe you better explain.

You don't get money back from a bails bondsmen. You PAY them 10 to 15 percent of the bond, and they post the bond. They money you pay them is their fee, they keep it, you do not get any money back from a bails bondsmen.

So if you went to a bondsmen and paid them 10 to 15 maybe even 20 percent of the bond, they get to keep that.

If you went to the court and paid the court clerk a bond, you get that back.

Why do you think you ever get money back from a bails bondsmen, that is not how it works.

Well I guess I should've been more specific I understand I don't get their fee back but I put up 1400$ collateral plus their 283$ fee and it clearly states that I should get the collateral money back after the case closed on the receipt I was issued. I need to know how I go about getting my collateral money back because they keep giving me the run around.

Oh and yes I had the money for the bond but I was in another state and they jail did not accept cc payments only cash or MO so that is why I had to put up the full amount. Hope this helps I just want my money back not their fee the 1400 they owe me. Thx

What form was the $1400 collateral? Did they put it on your credit card? Was it cash? What was it?

Yes, it DOES help to explain... Your bondsman is licensed by the state, most likely the insurance commission... Make a complaint there... Hopefully, you've made your DEMANDS in writing, so you can send those along to the state...

I'd do that, AND I'd sue 'em in small claims court. It's quick, cheap and easy...

But, there's probably MORE to this story, because in the ordinary course of events, bondsmen DON'T do this unless there's something going on... Do you KNOW why they haven't returned your money?? If so, I'd tell.

I have filed many things in writing and just recently filed a complaint with their insurance company thanks for that helpful tip by the way (: You think we'll have to go the small claims route or will the insurance company just settle it? This is crazy!! So yeah there is a story tied to it, many stories actually but the most recent is apparently new management has taken over so they have to talk to them then they will call me to get my info to send me a check. I've asked to speak with management and they will not call me. This was two weeks ago by the way. Now when I call them they don't answer or return my calls. We also just found out that they have changed their company name as well hmmm??

Since you put it on a card. Cancel the transaction. Call your credit card company and cancel the deposit.

I am dealing with a similar issue, I posted a bond of 16,500 and I was to get money back from better bail bonds minus there fees once the bond was exonerated in court which happened over a month ago and the better bail bonds company won't return my remaining balance of 12,500.00 dollars because they are having financial issues, Beware of anyone dealing with this company... IRS is on there . Now having to find an attorney. If anyone knows of a good one that would be helpful
