My son who is 18 years old have been watching Islamic videos on YouTube from the age of 15. According to our background and culture, I believed it is very good for a child to study and follow Islam. But his behavior is changing day by day and it is getting very difficult for us to control him since it seems wrong to beat him at this age. We have explained him in many ways many time but he says on our face that I am not going to do anything you say and just do what I want. His believes that 2012 is going to end and thinks that our style of living is very wrong. 2-3 times he has also left the house and we had to bring him back. He says that we are busy show offing and wants to make high status in society which I believe is completely misunderstood. If my wife and daughters are talking to each other in house with some high pitch, he calls them loose character. According to his believe of end of 2012, he is not studying and on forcing him to study for a good future he starts to argue that you are explaining me to make money in other words. My eldest son studying abroad due to good results is given as an example to him but he says that stop comparing me because I know my talent and I will do something big instead of job. He does not like dressing up even on occasions and do not shop because he thinks its waste of money. I save money for weddings and future and he says to distribute to orphans and needy which I do in a form of Zakat. We suggested him to became a Mufti but he says no I will show you what I can do. How can somebody do something without studying? Watching videos on YouTube and saying Allah is with me and without studying I can get A's in all subjects. He has anger on this tip of nose every hour. Disliking sitting and talking to siblings as they are Kaafir for him is distracting the family. What should I do? Taking laptop from him, taking to doctor all will make him go to negative side! Please suggest something.
