John Deere 110 will no longer start
This unit is 50 years old... got it from my father-in-law.

When I first got it, I had to wiggle the shift lever into different positions before it would start. Now, no matter what I do, it will not start. Battery, cables, etc. Are in good shape.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Tpl

Check the safety switch on the shift lever.
It should be a pressure switch that screws into the transmission it has a two wire connector on it .

Thanks for the suggestion DG. I will check the switch as soon as it warms up around here. Today, temp is 3 degrees... wind chill is -12 degrees!
