Legal fees From June 2009 - Now threatening to Garish wages
I meet with a lawyer in June of 2009 to discuss an issue with my mortgage. My Home was being forclosed. IThe lawyer sent a letter and made 2 phone calls on the matter. Trying to save the house. This was June 30, 2009. There was no response from the lenders lawyer.

We lost the house. I received a notice from the Lawyer that under the solicitors acts, he was requested an Order of Assessment. This was September 2011. I did not attend.

December 2011. I received a notice that the debt was assessed and a final balance owing was given.

I have not responded to that either.

Now today I received a notice that my wages will be Garnished.

We have had no contact with this lawyer since June 30th 2009. We lost the house July 15, 2009 and have received no invoices, phone calls or mail until September 2011.

Would I not be protected under Ontario's Limitations Act? This letter has been sent to my employer to start the garnishment.
