Parents are neglectful, afraid to confront for fear of making it worse! Any ideas?
If the mother of a neglected child is bipolar, how do you get help for both of them? I am afraid that if I do approach my daughter about seeing a psychologist she will not allow me to see or talk with my three year old grandson or she might commit suicide if they take him away or make matters much worse. I hear from everyone that it takes A lot to take a child away from its mother.
It has already gotten to the point where Grandpa and I can only speak to him on speaker phone. We moved to Florida from Ohio due to Grandpa's job transfer and my health. We bought them a laptop camera so that we could see our grandson but now we get nothing but excuses why neither of our grandsons can get online. My son has my other grandson age 11 and live just down the street from his sister. They both (I believe) self-medicate with marijuana and are very lazy when it comes to taking care of the boys. My son is married to a disabled woman who is boderline retarded but functions and is lazy and my daughter was never married.
This is my second marriage and my grown children's ages are: son (34) daughter (27). Their father is also bipolar with rage issues like my daughter and enables them by giving them just enough money so they won't bother him on a day to day basis. He has remained bitter towards me even though we have been divorced for 22 years and have talked badly about me to my kids all their life. I left him because of his verbal abuse and rage issues also. So, this is some of the background with a lot more in between.
Are there ANY suggestions out there to help these neglected boys with the least amount of fall out for ALL concerned meaning two sweet little boys and two grandparents that love them very much!
