When I reattached a flex gas line to my range, the gas shoots straight up out of the orifices, but doesn't disburse through the fixture intended to spread the flames out over the burner area. The electronic igniters spark, but they don't ignite the gas. When turned from "ignite" to "High", the flame (ignited manually) essentially blows itself out because it's shooting out so fast. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong and how I get the gas to spread through the fixture?

Sounds like you do not have a gas regulator on range. Gas regulators on a gas range is a must.

Most new stoves come with the regulator already installed so I would be surprised if that were the issue...

I'm wondering what kind of GAS we are talking about here... natural gas or propane gas? If you are feeding natural gas through a stove with propane orifices then that could cause your issue, too.

Is this a new stove, an old stove a friend had, or just reinstalling the old one after some work got done?

Get back to us on the regulator and the type of gas you have, and on stove being new/old, etc. OK?

Can you clear this up, are you reattaching and old gas line to an old stove where both worked fine before? Why was it disconnected to start with?
