    Need help to gain weight
[I][B]I am 5'3 I have 2 children I weigh 109 pounds. I also have thyroid I also went down to that weight when they removed both my tubes and I am trying to put the weight back on but it is very difficult. I was warned that I was going to loose weight when they removed my tubes. I lost 5 pounds. I go every 3 to 6 months to get blood work done to check my thyroid and it is at a good level. I also eat a lot and very healthy foods. I don't want to work out because I do loose weight very quickly. I get a lot of exercise chasing 4 kids around. I have 2 children of my own and 2 step children. I also get a proper sleep. Do you have any advise that can help me.

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear about your Thyroid problem and as a person who gains weight very quickly I can tell you some additions to your diet that may help you to increase your body fat/weight.

A healthy way to gain weight is to to increase your intake of foods that are high in fat but containing the good fats. For example nuts are packed full of vitamins and minerals while containing a vast amount of protein that will keep your energy levels up. I recommend you eat at least a 100g bag a day particulaly MACADAMIA nuts which are the highest calorie of all nuts. You can find these in most health food shops and also in Supermarkets! All nuts are great and have a high calorie content so if snack on the ones that you most prefer.

Increase your portion size and add additional Mayo and high fat sauces to create a higher calorie meal. For example a mere spoonful of mayo contains a 100 calories. Pop on 2 spoons on your sandwich and that's an extra 200 calories. This is what I must avoid in order to lose weight!

Something I will recommend is a website I just found that records the calories in foods and shows the nutrition value.. You can look through that for higher calorie alternatives that are still healthy and you can take ideas off other people. If you want to check it out its, 'www.makemyplate.co' Hope that helps and wishing you the best of luck,
