    Light pale pink "spotting"
I am 36 years old and have for the most part always have regular cycles about 28/29 days with 4 to 6 day periods. My most recent period started January 3rd 2012 and was unusually long. It did not end until January 11th... So 8 days of full on bleeding. Going off my usual 28 day cycle I would have ovulated on January 17th. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend on January 14th. Again, per my usual cycle I should have started my next period on January 31st. Instead, this is what I have experienced thus far... On January 29th, 2 days before I expected to start, I noticed a very pale pink discharge only when I wiped but not every time I wiped. This discharge pattern happened the 29th, 30th, 31st, 1st, and early this morning the 2nd of February but has since stopped all together. Yesterday afternoon I took an HPT and the result was negative. I am curious if I could be pregnant or if I could be experiencing signs of early menopause... My mother had me at 36 and then by age 40 had gone through total menopause never having another period. I have 2 children and as of right now I don't really feel pregnant. I have had some symptoms ex. Throbbing nipples and sensitivity to smells with some fatigue but overall nothing like my previous pregnancies. My children are 13 and 14 now though so I was uncertain if later in life the syptoms could present differently. Can you please give me some input or a direction in which to research. I have searched the web with many conflicting reports. Thank you very much for your time.

Could be menopause or pregnancy, the symptoms can be extremely different from each pregnancy. Go to the doctor for the best information and answers.
