    Whirlpool dryer cuts off?
My dryer cuts off by itself almost immediately after I start it... then I turn the knob backwards and it will start again then shut off and sometimes I have to do this numerous times before it will stay on long enough to get the clothes dry. I think it may be a short in the knob. Any help that may be provided will be greatly appreciated

This dryer turns on, gets hot and cuts off by itself after several minutes or sometimes dries for longer or shorter times but needs to be turned on several times before the clothes finally get dry. Its not the lint filter. Does anyone know what is causing this? Thanks.
