    Rubber gasket for the thermal coupler in our water heater...
    How important is the thermal coupler igniter wire rubber gasket? We replaced the thermal coupler and the orange rubber gasket crumbled. I put everything back together (except for the gasket) so that we can take showers, but my wife is concerned, since the water heater is out in the garage, and our daughter lives in the apartment above the garage...
