Somewhat of a common issue with couples that do multiple partners, But only he can tell you why, so you need to sit down and talk with him. Could he be seeing one or more of the other partners on the side?

As Chuck said, only your boyfriend can tell you what is going on in his mind. So you need to sit down and talk with him.

There are some other questions that you can ask yourself that might help you understand what is going on:

Do you live together? If so, do you spend a lot of time together? Have you (as a couple) attempted to keep your relationship 'fresh' by other means than threesomes?

Have there been any other changes in your relationship?

Is he generally stressed or tired?

Do you have any children?

Is he on any medications or self-medicating with alcohol or other 'recreational' drugs?

Do you have a job and/or other interests outside the home so that he isn't your only source of entertainment or emotional support?

Do you have a set of rules agreed on by both of you and your partners for how threesomes are handled and the relationship afterward?
