Extremely light period and a brown discharge?

HI there
I have a question to ask. Me and my husband have be trying for a baby and I am just curious about my period this month. It started on the 15th (the day it was suppose to start) but it was like extremely extremely light, like a thin little spot. And then on and off for the next few days I've been having very light and little brown discharge. What could this mean? Please could anyone help answer my question.
