3 year old goodman cycles on the off every 5 seconds
Recently noticed our furnace will kick on, fan or blower (1) is heard, a clicking sound which starts the furnace fan or blower (2) then the another click and the burners kick on. After a few seconds, another click and the burners will shut off but both fans are on. Then a click and fan/blower (2) shut off. After a few more seconds a few clucks, fan/blower (2) will start up again followed by burner... few seconds later it shuts off and it starts over. The only way to get this to stop s to allow everything to shut off including fan/blower (2) and when all is silent, things will be fine until an hour or so. Then the series of clicking on and off will happen.

Hi Kim and welcome, I would try cleaning the flame sensor with steel wool. Let me know how that goes. Good luck

parttime nailed it. You need to clean the flame sensor. If that fails to cure the problem, let us know.

Hot water heat - boiler runs for 15 minutes then cycles on and off every 15 seconds [ 0 Answers ]

Sounds like it is lighting the boiler over and over again. I thought it might be a dirty flame sensor so I used some light sandpaper on the flame sensor but did not reolve the problem. It is a Slant/Fin Victory II Boiler Model VHS-120 EP. Thanks for your help.

Heat pump cycles on and off within seconds [ 1 Answers ]

I reviewed many posts but didn't see a diagnosis for this issue. I have a split system, forced air gas furnace with ac compressor unit outside. Unit is 5 years old, and outside of warranty. The compressor fan works fine, and cycles on when the thermostat goes to cool. The compressor cycles...
