    Weak washing machine drain pump
I just replaced my Frigidaire HE front loader (in the basement) with a Maytag HE topper. My drain had been going up (~6') to the house's drain system which goes to a cesspool, under the back yard somewhere. The Maytag wouldn't drain up that far, even with a check valve in-line. Just as well, because this machne seems to go through much more water than the old one. Right now, the machine drains into a 55 gallon fish tank equipped with a sump pump. A garden hose goes from the pump 100' to the back yard, where it just flows onto the lawn. It works fine, however:
    1. When it gets real cold here soon, I fear the hose will freeze up and water will not drain.
    2. There's got to be a better way to do this. If I dig a dry well, it'll have to be below the level of the basement floor.

    Any suggestions?
