    Accruing revenue
    With the way my company's internal sales reports are structured, it is impossible to get the ACTUAL revenue numbers for month they occurred. Instead we accrue them based on estimates and historical data. At times, our accruals result in the overstatement of revenue and we true up the numbers in the following month. Is it better to wait one month for the actual numbers and report them one month later or continue accruing as we are doing.
