    Guardianship to adoption
My husband and I have been legal guardians of our granddaughter since she was 3 months old-she is almost 4 now. We live in Texas but the guardianship is from another state (our move was permitted through the court). We want to adopt. How much easier is it going to be since she's been with us from the beginning and what parts of the process will be omitted?
    Thank you

Nothing will be omitted, except maybe a home inspection. You will still need to go to court and will still need the parents assent.

Thank you very much for your response.
I figured on the court appearances and parents assent but what about time-consuming things like background social studies and having to give references? Would that also apply to us?
    Thank you

That's what I meant about home inspections. I think you may get that stuff waived.
