    Hair cutting technique
There is a hair cutting technique called DISCONNECTED LAYERING. What is the definition of disconnected layers, and how are they cut?

The cut is best achieved using both a razor and shears. Using a controlled free hand style. A cut like this is best for straight fine hair. Disconnected meaning they deliberately do not blend into each other. Ashlee Simpson's haircut would fall into this category.
