How to remove my name from a home loan.
How do I get my name off a home loan since my ex husband is living in the home and making the payments. He tried to refinance but doesn't have good enough credit. My name being on this home loan is keeping me from being approved for a USDA Home Loan.

Not going to happen unless he refinances the loan in his name only. No bank is going to remove a cosigner or a coborrower from a loan.. especially today with the high number of defaults.. because they can come after you if he doesn't pay.

It wasn't going to happen 5 years ago... and its really not going to happen today.

I totally agree with Smoothy. Wasn't this issue addressed at your divorce? If not then the intent was to keep both of you paying on the property. Are you paying him for any part of the mortgage? Again should have been spelled out in the divorce.

Yes, just because the divorce court orders it to happen, does not mean they can. You can try and take him back to court, if he does not do it, you may be able to either force a sale of the house if he can not refi or even get to take over the house ourself and you get a new loan on the house.
