    Adoption by stepfather?
    My daughter is 10 and we have been living in the US for 2 years.I have sole custody of her but her dad and I share guardianship. He has never paid child support and has not been in contact with her in over a year. My husband takes care of her and he wants to adopt her.I am expecting some difficulty from her biological father.He is usually very obstructive.Not sure where to start?

    And attorney is the place to start, Be sure you are pushing hard for child support esp if he is not paying properly.

    But if he does not want to sign rights away, and will fight it, most likely his rights will not be taken away
