    No... you should have NO alcohol while pregnant or nursing.

    Actually my Dr told me it is safe to have a glass of red wine while pregnant and nursing.

    Alcohol passes through the placenta to your developing baby. Are you willing to take chances on WHAT level will effect development? I'm a good sized guy... and I can feel the alcohol in the glass of wine after I drink it.

    I don't think anyone can positively guarantee what is a safe level. Beyond a few sips. I'm in the "better safe that sorry" school of thought.

    I would say no. I'm 6 1/2 months pregnant and your baby is starting the stage where more brain activity is starting to form. I wouldn't even want to think about drinking with my unborn child growing inside me but that's me.

    My doctor also stated that having one glass of wine occasionally during pregnancy was not likely to hurt the baby.

    HOWEVER--this is something you need to talk to your doctor about. I had a very difficult pregnancy, and my doctor weighed the risks and other factors of my pregnancy in with her advice. You are better off having NO alcohol during pregnancy without consulting your doctor about it first.
