Old 1950's film noir type movie!
This was a movie where I guy comes home from the military, I think, and he gets involved trying to stop local mobsters and his father who is going to run for some office gets killed and he takes his dads place. I have only seen this guy in one movie who stars in it but he looks familiar like maybe he ended up in a t.v. Show, I don't know? One scene I kid on a bike gets killed down the street from his house by getting run over I believe. At the end the star narrates something which led me to believe he stared as himself? I have been on a mission to find this can you help?

I forgot the title of this movie. It was from the 1950's or 1960's. Its about a woman performer who's husband dies in the war, so to comfort her, her mother gives her a drink, she starts drinking alcohol everyday and becomes an alcoholic. She marries many men then overcomes her addiction in the end.
