I have a Janitrol gas heater ignites for 8 sec. Then glow bar fades
And the flame goes out. The flame sensor looks good the metal probe is not disclored could it still be bad?
The heater work fine last year when I used it. This is the first time I started it up this season. I live in a duplex and the other heater is working fine so I believe that the chimney is clear. The model is GMP075-3 Serial #9310085870 Goodman ( Imput 75,000, output 60,000- motor one third horse power. After the heater makes three attempts the red indicator light blinks once every 4sec. Last season I did not use the heater much but when I was home and did it work great.
    Thank You Mike

Not bad in particuar ,just need cleaning, use fine steelwool or very fine sandpaper, u might not see what is hindering it to work right

Did you physically pull the flame senser out and clean it up real good? Sure sounds like a typical dirty flame senser. It can be pretty tough to get it clean enough without removing it. Do you have a multimeter with ua setting? If so, you can test the senser with that.

I did remove the flame sensor to clean it with steel wool no change so I bought a new one for $13 it still did the same thing. The connectors look tight do not see any burnt wires. Do you still think that it is the flame sensor. What do I do now??
