SSI and Child Support of a disabled child
I have a child who is on SSI for disabilities, he is 14 and his father has just recently been ordered to pay child support. How does this effect his SSI payments? Will they stop? How does this work?

They should have been taken into consideration at the support hearing. How were they addressed?

SSI is based on income. I believe one-third of child support is not counted toward family income but the other 2/3rd's is. You would need to notify SS and get their advice. Child Support Payments and the SSI Program
