I'm replacing the toilet in a bathromm that was an add-on to our house. When it was originally installed by the previous owner, apparently the drain hole in the floor is about 1/2" - 3/4" too close to the wall. My understanding is that to the center of the drain hole, the distance should be 12". I always noticed the old toilet tank leaned toward the front and now I know why. Is there any way to make the tank sit straight like it is suppose to without replacing the plumbing in the floor?

A better way would be to replace the toilet flange with a 1" offset flange. If the flange put you out a little too far you can always cock the flange one way or the otherto bring the tank closer. Area of expertise, can you tell me if it will be difficult to remove the
Existing toilet flange. If not, what's the best way to remove it. Thanks

Before I can tell you I need to know the material That the pipe and flange are made of. Back to you. Regards, tom

You will have to cut the Flange and pipe off even with the floor and glue in a inside offset flange. Is it possible to "fudge" a bit and pull the bowl as far forward as you can without changing the flange? Pleas post your questions here and not in my E-mail? Regards, Tom
