My dad is having to pay back child support to my mom for about 36 years worth. I don't think its right. He is disabled and getting Social security checks. The child support is taking all of his money and only allowing him to live off less than 10 a month. I don't think this is right because me and my brother both grew up in foster care and group homes. I went into foster care at the age of 9 and my brother was 11. My mom lost her rights and made it so that my dad couldn't get us back either. The state took care of us. So I don't think its right that my mom is getting all 36 years worth and not just the years she actually took care of us. I have nothing against my mom, I just don't want my dad to be living off so little. Is there anything I can do? Or my dad can do to make it easier on himself?

If you were under state care then most likely the money is going to the state and not your mom. If that is the case then he should go to court to request relief and since it is the state they may cut him a deal.
