    Custody given to non family
    How can a court give custody to a non family member without notifing the other parent. This has happen to me in the state of Ohio, Madison County at that?

    First, it's not a good idea to piggyback your question on another thread. So it has been moved to its own thread.

    To answer your question we would need more info. Like who was the child given to? Were family members informed that the child was being placed? Where are the parents?

    A court is generally charged with determining the best interests of the child. The judge probably felt this was the best interests based on the facts he had.
