    3 day notice
I got a 3 day notice because I'm late on my rent. I'll have the money in a couple of weeks. So what happens after the 3 day notice? How long will it be before I go to court? And If I have the money when I go to court can they still put me out? I reside in California

Depends on how burdened the courts are. After the three days the landlord goes to court for an eviction order. A hearing will be scheduled. How soon depends on the court calendar.

If you don't have the money by then the court will issue the eviction.

Also, if the judge allows you to pay in court, you will be required to also pay the late fees, court costs and any attorney fees.

Agree is this a "pay or quit" notice or merely a move notice.

The time can be really different. This could be a week or two weeks.
Also will you have the next month on time since the time frame since it will be almost due by the time you have this months payment.

But agree, you will owe all the late fees, and all of the court costs fees on the day of court.

If I were you I would call landlord and give them any $$ you can. This notice mey be his way of telling you he means business! It's a pain to getnew tennants. Work out a payment plan and stick to it. Think about this? The owner has a mortgage payment each month and depends on your rent when its due. Do you go to the grocery store and tell them you will pay them in a couple of weeks. One other thing to note. The landlord does not care why!! nor should he! You made an agreement, he gives you a place to live, you pay him for that place to live. Pay what you owe on time or pack up and get out! It's that simple. Do you think because you have a money problem your landlord should also suffer? Ps you have money for cable and internet hookup to post here, but no rent money? hmmm
