I've been best friends with this girl for years. She tried to get together with me multiple times, but for some reason there was something always holding me back. I love her though, and I've told her that. Today she told me she has a boyfriend. It killed me. I now want her more than ever, and it's too late. I think I was so scared I'd mess things up with her, that I never acted on how I felt. She told me I had the chance, and that she wishes it were me. I don't know what to do.

I think you should see how she feels like around her boyfriend and see if he deserves her or if she is happy with him if she is then be proud you made her happy but if that does not work than just tell her now and see how she reacts. I think you're a really nice guy and you do deserve her but is she even good enough for you please cheer up...

I think you should stand up for yourself and show her how you feel. It will kill you more now after so many years to hold back. Just tell her face to face, how you feel and then cut the communication between the two of you if it hurts you too much to see her. To face the person you love, can be so hurtful when you can't have them. Then you are just suffering yourself even more. Relieve yourself by just being honest to yourself and to her. Say you care about her, you love her, you will be there for her and that you were just afraid to ruin your friendship by making it a relationship.
