I've been trying to find these two novels that were written by the same author for what seems like an eternity. It was written by a gay male and the plot was that one of the characters was a mentor to a young man who was new to the city. I think that they meet at a free clinic where the naïve young guy has crabs or something. The mentor becomes friends with this young man and they become really close. The older guy realizes that he has HIV later on in the story and becomes friends with the young guy's boyfriend (and younger guy is HIV )... The next novel deal with the young man's survival guilt, he now on the drugs that are for AIDS and he's been partying hard with a new set of young friends and eventually breaks-up with his boyfriend. The young guy new set of friends who are even younger then him share their crystal meth with this guy and soon make fun of the guy's addiction to it.He's able to get himself together thanks to the help of some straight friends and even has a HEA meeting his ex at a spa (ex has loss weight and looking good) and they give it another shot. These novels were written between late 90's or mid 2000. Also it's not anything written by William J Mann... Please help me find these novels they were sappy but a good read.
