    Upstairs lights don't work
My house upstair lights don't work. I bought a new light fixture but that didn't work either. Checked another room and it didn't work and two closet lights won't go on. Checked fuse box and all looks good. Took a voltage tester and there is power going to wires. What am I missing

There can be a loose connection, splice, etc in one of the outlet or junction boxes.

Could this be in the switch. The only thing with that is this would cause the 2 closets and other bedroom light to go off. So I'm thinking that all these are in this junction box your taking about. Also it seems that there would be too many wires in this box. Wouldn't you say!

How are you confirming power to the wires, between what two wires are you touching? Power in the wires but does it reach and leave the switch?

Yes I confirmed power to the wires using my volt meter. When the switches are off I do not get power and when I turn the switches on I get power.
