I don't what to do, my wife says I am a manipulative person and I don't see it. She wants a divorce and I say no meanwhile we are supposed to be going to counselling in 2 days. She says it's a repeated circle, good for a week bad for a week. This happens all the time. I am so confused and there's a little girl that is holding us together. What do I do?

You go to counselling, listen to what she says, listen to what the counsellor says, you're honest and truthful. If your wife wants a divorce that's about all you can do.

She doesn't need your consent to divorce you. All she has to do is serve you with papers. You can say "no" all you want, but you cannot legally stop her.

I find your wording to indicate you have some sort of control issue - she asks for a divorce, you say "no"? How about she asks for a divorce and you don't want a divorce?

Take the counsellor's advice, whatever it is. This is not an overnight fix, no matter where the problem lies, with you or with her or somewhere in between.

You both need to attend counseling and then maybe after a third party can see more... it might resolve the contention and if you ARE doing as she says... to help you see it... and if you aren't, make her see that as well...

There are no sure things in life... but counseling is a good step in case there is something to salvage.
