New 93 Mercedes 500SEL SELF ACCELERATES? Then the brakes wouldn't stop the car
The seller's only instruction besides walking through the basics was to 'warm the car up'... she said it was because her father always told her to do that.. she even told me to watch the instrument panel and when it reached 80... then I could move the car... OKAY... got it for a steal...
Now... drove the car home... so it was already warmed up... parked it over night then the next night, needed to pick up my girl... started the car and only waited about three minutes for the warm up and it hadn't reached the 80 mark... then... began driving and all of a sudden it began accelerating on me... like someone was stepping on and off the gas peddle... but the brakes were working fine... so I just figured.. okay.. got to watch this... then while driving down stockton blvd... same thing happen but THEN the brakes weren't working as well and would barely stop the car... I don't know what this is and the seller refuses to return my call now... don't know what to do... but on a fixed income and can't take it to a dealer or a mechanic to find out... can anyone help me?

What do you mean, watch the instrument panel and when it reaches 80?

Sounds like you have a car that should not even be on the road. I don't wonder the seller won't return your call.

You owe it to yourself to get that car checked out, which you should have done before paying for it. In my neck of the woods a used car can't be sold without a Roadworthy Certificate signed by a certified mechanic.

If I were you, and you probably know where she lives, take her to small claims and get your money back. And I hope that car didn't cost you much.

This has to be looked at by someone qualified. No exceptions! This is a safety issue. Do you know anybody that could lend you a hand to see what's it doing to cause this?
Don't drive it until then, okay?
