How do I encourage and maintain hope in parents of alcoholics
I have been sober for the last two years and I feel great, I decided to help any other suffering alcoholic willing to change but I face a few challenges, like what to say and how to advise their parents. Keeping up the hope of their loved ones has proved tougher than I thought. How do I get them to hold on and patiently journey with me in helping their loved ones. Any ideas

P.S I have had a few successes in the past but my last case is more baffling, I need guidance

Many times you can't, by the time a alcoholic normally decides they want, ( really want) help, they have burned most all of the bridges, used up all of the second chances.

You will need to learn to work in the system where most have been hurt and need to know that it is also the family that needs counseling. You need to accept in most cases it will not be till the alcoholic proves themselves after months and months that families may finally have hope. And in some the harm of the past will never be forgiven.
