    Help working out a number sequence?
    A grade 3 puzzle :) Why are the three numbers (3,34,10) excluded in the following sequence (Note this was shown in Roman numerals)
    1,2,5,6,7,8,9,11,12,13
    Any help most appreciated?

    Do you mean 3, 4, and 10 were excluded? (not 34)

    You're saying the sequence was given in Roman numerals as:

    I, II, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, XI, XII, XIII

    and they ask why III, IV, and X are excluded - is that right?

    Given this is for 3rd grade I doubt this is really a math problem. Was any other information provided? A picture perhaps, or is it part of a story?
