    Cannot access eBay
    Hi
I have been unable to access the eBay website, I have tried everything, most of the fixes on many help sites
The problem I have is that I have 2 laptops / 1 PC and a galaxy ace mobile, all these machines are unable to access the eBay website, but if I take my laptop to my mates house and use a different ISP my laptop connects to eBay without any bother, when I use my mobile on three network it connects to eBay no problem, but when I use the wifi it connot find the website, I have emailed AOL with the problem, still waiting on any response, their probably waiting for me to call their expensive help line, It would seem to me that AOL has blocked me from accessing eBay, do they have the right to do this, or am I just paranoid, or is there an easy fix or something I can do to rectify my problem
Would appreciate very much any help anyone can give

At your friends house, can you log on to your account, or just bring up eBay? Were you a buyer or seller ? Is it possible that perhaps your IP address was banned ?

Well it does sound like an issue with AOL's routing to eBay and possibly other sites.

have you checked the network status to find out if there's any known issue.
If you log into AOL with your screen name go to the help page and at the bottom is the status of the network and time.

TBH, especially if you are a Sky or Cable subscriber, it would make great sense to shift your ISP away from AOL as they are truly shocking both in terms of quality, service and value.

Hi Thanks for answering so quickly
I can do anything from mates house, log on/ purchase/ sell/ no problem
I have no trouble accessing any other website, anything with eBay in the address bar brings up "wesite not found" even if I try and access eBay motors syill no luck, I acually have 3 laptops (kids) and another PC in the house all give me the same "cannot find website, NEVER HAD ANY TROUBLE LIKE THIS BEFORE, I am quite savvy with computers, tried to ping www.ebay.co.uk from the cmd promt, the ping could not find the website either.
I think the problem is with my ISP, even formatted one of my laptops and did a clean install of win 7 other than ie8 and the AOL software installed, still no joy.

    Can anyone help me please.

    Thanks again

I am having the SAME problem! I can't get on eBay on internet explorer OR Firefox!!
Only I have comcast in the US.
I've re- set my router and my cable box. I've looked in my firewall for problems and I find none.

Wish I had an answer for you... I only share your pain!

I have found a work around, I downloaded web freer, a program that hides your IP address, downloaded it installed and I can now access eBay, still think AOL has blocked me from accessing eBay, but working for now. Hope this helps others out there.

    Cheers

I have had the same problem for 2 weeks. Talking to AOL technical support is like talking to a badly programmed robot. I am reasonably computer savvy. If you ask a difficult question i.e. why is it that I cannot ping eBay but every other website is OK? they just go silent and then regurgatate the same garbage reading from a script(change mtu size, unplug the router etc). I managed to get a free month rental but even after escalating to level 2 technical support, it seems they are not able to fix the problem. Last time I called they said 'please wait for a few more days' When I asked what the time frame was to get this fixed, they said 'there is no time frame' I now tether my Android phone to my laptop on 3g when I want to use eBay. Not great as I am on payg so it costs money.

I advise everyone to change isp to send them a message.
