I am looking for the name of a "bad cop" movie
I saw a great movie several years ago and all I remember is how great it was. The movie seemed to be located in New York in the neighborhood not too far from the George Washington Bridge, Washington Heights, although that may not be acurate. It had the look of that neighborhood or that type of neighborhood. I remember that when I watched it I felt that I was looking at NY, in a neighborhood I had seen before.

I remember the movie being extremely gritty and what the cops did I remember that I was shocked by it. It was hard to watch. They were dishonest cops, or at least the main players were. I honestly don't remember who the players were (and I know that's a problem) but I really would like to see it again, but I don't know what to look for.

Thank you for your response, Training Day was an LA based movie (if I remember correctly) this one was a NY based movie and if I remember correctly, it was grittier than Training Day.
