Can you help me identify this painting (Classical, Victorianish)?
I purchased this a while ago from somebody selling of stuff from a family members estate. The painting is on board and looks pretty old. The colors are still vivid but there are clear signs of ware. There appears to be a signature at the bottom left, but it is much too faded - might not even be a signature.
The problem is, I think I may have seen it on Art Renewal's wed site a while ago so it could either be a reproduction, or it might be worth money... I am not sure. I went through Artrenewal.org's entire artist catalog, didn't find it again. It may have been removed or moved, or I may have been dreaming. Does anybody recognize this painting?
