Crown placement, gum hurts since day one.
My tooth broke in half. I went to the dentist who trimmed it, put a temp cap and until then it was all fine , no pain at all. I went back for the permanent crown. The crown has been placed and since that day my gum on the right side only of the crown constantly hurts. I went back to the dentist and he cleaned around the gums hoping for the problem to be resolved. Still hurts after that also. Any suggestions? I hope I do not have to pull the tooth out. Please let me know of what you think the solution is.

It probably doesn't fit well. Did the dentist mention anything about there not being enough tooth structure? If there wasn't enough it could make the crown fit poorly and irritate your gum. You will have to ask him about it. If you are lucky he might be able to remove the crown with a pneumatic crown remover and adjust it.
