Read the sticky on ''What does a puppy need?'' at https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/dogs/i...tml#post251802 also housebreaking. Try to talk to your parents about what you have learned about avoiding common problems by using a crate, obedience training, and effective methods of housebreaking. Puppies in the house can be much easier than they may remember.

You do need to think about what happens to the puppy when you leave home. That may see a lifetime away, but in 5 years, you will be 18, and going away to school or to work. The puppy will be an adult in its prime, used to the attention you are giving it. What does it do when you are forced to leave it behind? It may have another good 10 years. Puppies are a long term commitment. You have lived 13 years. When it has lived 13 years, it may still have many more. You will be 26 and maybe have young children of your own.

Since this really is a teen/parent problem, I guess this is the right forum for it.

When is a puppy not a puppy anymore? [ 3 Answers ]

Our Lhasa is now 10 months old. As a puppy we have had food available pretty much at all times, but maybe he's getting past that now, and for his weight should maybe only be fed about a cup to a cup and a half of his dog meal a day. We have been using Wysong, by the way, and it seems to have a...
