What is the difference between cervical softening and cervix being closed?
I am not quite sure what it means. In order for softening does your cervix have to be open or is that what it means when the cervix is soft its opened ?

    Hi Jaguilar7... welcome to AMHD!

When your cervix is soft it is merely referring to the feel or consistency. Normally your cervix will be firm throughout pregnant... frequently demonstrated as the feel of the tip of your nose. Towards the end, softening of the cervix is just one sign that your body may be preparing for labor... the softness often being demonstrated as the feel of your lip.

One of the other signs, which frequently does not happen until labor is underway, is dilation, or the opening of the cervix. Your cervix can be soft with no dilation occurring.

Water softening [ 3 Answers ]

I hear all kinds of conflicting information on "electronic water softeners". A coil or field of magnets and signals ionize the water from exterior of piping. Do these plug in systems really work. Priced from $79 up to $1000. Is it snake oil or not!
