    Replacing an old thermostat from the 1970s, but it only has 2 wires, how do I wire it
    There's one black and one white wire, where do I put into new thermostat g,w,y,r or rc?

    Put one on R post,, the other on W post,, doesn`t matter which color

    If you want to fully utilize the new thermostat then you need new wire; elsewise, hook one to r and the other to w.
