Okay movie buffs - here's where we separate the weak from the strong. I'm clearly weak (despite my 5 years of film school) since I've been trying to find the name of this movie for such a long time.
Genre - black comedy
Release - approx 1996 - 2000
Plot - a retired hitman has a drop-out friend who gets into trouble (maybe a gambling debt) with some powerful people (possibly the retired hitmans former bosses). The retired hitman covers for his friend only for a succession of assassins to attempt to kill him in his own home. They all manage to one by one tie him to a chair in his kitchen, only for him to break free at a vital moment and kill them before they kill him.
The assassins include a black guy that gets them stoned before he tries to kill him; and a sexy woman who has sex with him while he's tied to the chair in the kitchen, before she tries to kill him.
In the meantime possibly his girlfriend or estranged wife is trying to call him on the phone.
In the end he wins, saves his friend, keeps the money, and ends up at an airport runway in a red ferrari or some such.
WHAT the FRIG is this film called? I don't remember there being ANY big name stars in it, all B actors, but still a decent film - the post pulp fiction era when there was a constant stream of pulp fiction style knock off crime comedy dramas.
It had the feel of a barry sonnenfeld screwball-situation style crime movie but I don't believe its one of his movies.
If anybody knows the name of this movie... you win a biscuit and film knowledge kudos.
