    I got a credit card in my grandfather's name yesterday and he's been dead for 5 years
    I don't get it? Don't they know he's dead? How can they just send him a credit card? What a bunch of morons.

    I got a solicitation in the mail recently for my mother who dies over 20 years ago.

    The marketing firms buy lists from other companies. Sometimes these lists are not cleaned up very well. Look at it this way, 3rd class mail subsidizes other postal rates.
