    Divorcing an Immigrant in Callifornia
My girlfreind will be here soon from Thailand on a fiancé visa and she has no money and I have a good amount of money. My question is, if we do marry without a prenup and we get a divorce with in a couple of years, will I have to give her half? We are located in California by the way.

No answers here --just a comment -- is this what the world has come to, worrying about the divorce before the wedding has ever happened? What ever happened to the dreams of true love and a life together ?

I am a firm believer in true love and that is why I have gone through a lot of money and trouble to get her a visa here. I do not plan on getting a prenup and whatever the answer is to my question will not change the way I feel about her or stop me from marrying her. I just am currious to know what could possibly happen if she changed on me in the future. I think it is better to know the answer to all the possibilities that could happen, so you can be prepared for it if the unfortunate ever happens. Unfortunately there are no guarantees in life because people change, but I intend to take may chances and can not see myself being without her in my life. I guess I am part romantic and part realist.
