    Hi,

I need to perform a paired sample t-test and I have the following data set:

    2002 2003 2004 2005 2006
    100 84 76 111 65
    75 30 45 89 90
    0 1 29 4 44
    9 18 6 98 9
    11 29 45 65 3
    111 88 90 9 90
    44 21 10 6 26

I wish to compare the three year period (2002, 2003 and 2004) to the two year period (2005 and 2006).
To do this would I use the averages for each period, or simply use the sums for each period i.e. Which set of data below would I use?

    A
    2002.03.04 2005/06
    86.66667 88
    50 89.5
    10 24
    11 53.5
    28.33333 34
    96.33333 49.5
    25 16

    B
    2002.03.04 2005/06
    260 176
    150 179
    30 48
    33 107
    85 68
    289 99
    75 32
