    Is this child abandonment?
I have a 11 month old daughter. Her father and I have been in contact since she was three months . He always stated "I'm take care of mine". So not true. He is 44,Im 30. He has a 19 yr old son,and lives with his mother. So basically after the paternity test came back he said I'm putting him on my health insurance.I still have not received a card.he stated he had it. Then my son got sick,he blamed me that I didn't fill out paper work. Note I gave him all his info. I try to be a good person,I asked him to help with child care. Child care is 580 a month,he gives me 180. Sometimes. He stated he has to pay his rent and car note. So I've been dealing with some months getting nothing or 80 dollars. Note he doesn't help with milk ,clothes, food, diapers. He promises I'm buy him clothes, haven't received that.I'm get him a car seat , haven't seen that, shoe ,nope, I asked him to get my son diapers, I was broke. Still have not seen them. My last straw threatened me . I never argue I just stated I needed the diapers and the halloween costume. So three days ago I'm still waiting. I feel for a man that's much older ,and has had another child. He should know what to do. I've done everything for my son,but I feel his father needs to do the same. So I'm thinking on ufiling child abandonment. Also I want no visitation. I've brought my daughters to him ,not once has he brought her in his house. We always sit outside.his mother never ask to see her. He never picks her up. She never met his son. So is that grounds for no visitation. Please help. I know he is going to snap. But I need advice.

What State/Country? In general, no, that's not abandonment.

Is there a Court Order concerning support and/or visitation? Is there "proof" (DNA) that he's the father.

You need to go to Court and get some rules established. Your child is entitled to be supported by BOTH parents.

Yes, I believe Georgia is one of the few states that calls non-support "abandonment".

You need to get a court order. Generally, he wouldn't be required to pay for diapers and Halloween costumes; but instead would be required to pay you a set amount per month, based upon his income.

You can't go by a promise. You need a court order. You can file with the state and they will help you to get the order started and for collection. Visitation is a separate issue from support. If you get it from the courts and he doesn't pay then he will be held responsible for his lifetime. It doesn't just go away.

Would you clarify your post a little. I read initially that you have a daughter with him, but then the majority of the posting is about your son. Do you have more than one child with him?
