    No period , negative hpt & blood test, what's going on ?
    First let me say that my periods are somewhat irregular but I have NEVER went a whole month without a period unless I was pregnant. Last month my period came on the 24th so when 10.24.11 came & went with no period it got my attention, the 25,26, & 27th went by & still nothing. I took a few hpt & all came back negative, so I went to my doc on the 27th to get a blood test & that too was negative so I waited & waited for my period to come & still nothing. Its now 11.1.11 & no period & no signs of it coming anytime soon, my body is telling me that I'm pregnant I'm tired, soar & swollen breast, mood swings, peeing a lot but the pregnancy tests said negative so I should go by that right? But since my periods are irregular I could have ovulated late & tested to early, my doc told me to wait a week from the 27th to test again which would be Thursday but I'm getting a test today to take tomorrow with first morning pee. Just wanted to know has anybody else experienced this or is going through something similar? I'm so confused

    Sometimes a positive result doesn't show up for several weeks for some women. A quantitative blood test would give you the actual level of the hormone associated with pregnancy (hcg), while the qualitative one shows positive or negative.

    While the blood test is more accurate, it is not always more sensitive than some of the urine tests. It may indeed have been too early to be picked up.

    It may also be that your period is just off and you skipped a cycle, even if it hasn't happened before.

    See what you get with the next test. If still negative, and still no period after several more days, ask your doctor about a quantitative blood test. If it shows that you are not pregnant, your doctor may discuss ways of trying to regulate your cycles for you.

    Im sorry but something is going on with my body for 6 months i have iregular periods, then i had 3 months of a regular period... i had a period of september 1 2011... then comes october no period now it's november no period "TEARS" i don't know what's going on what with me... i took a pregnancy test in october which is a blood test and it came back negative what could be the problem??
