    Stripping and waxing bid
    Hi Stringer and others :)

I have been asked to give a bid on a complex in College Park MD which is in Wshington DC, Well here's the problem
I have never done this type of work, also I have to rent machine and supplies which is no problem. I've researched and the machine can be rented for $77 a week, I've also went out today to research price wise other supllies. Since Im a start up business this can help me to buy future equipment. So my question is how much to pay for this job hourly? And what is the average price paid per square feet. We went out earlier to do square footage this building has 7 floors it's a high rise senior citizen complex. I consider condition of building to be a class B building. The hallways were about 200 sq ft? There wasn't a lot of wear and tear at the most wheelchair marks.

    Hi Brekyron,

I responded to your other post on pricing VCT floor stripping and refinishing. And on the labor costs.

You did not mention that you have no experience doing this type of work. Believe me when I say that this is a skilled labor job and if you do not know how to strip and refinish a hard floor it probably will be a disaster and will end up costing you money and your reputation. I suggest that you skip this bid and get some on hand experience before you attempt any floor work. If that is not what you choose to do then hire an experienced floor person this is your only choice believe me. I takes a skilled, experienced person who not only knows how to properly run a stripper machine but also knows how much wax to apply and exactly when to apply the second and third coats. Many things can go wrong.
