    Minor dating?
    I'm fourteen and I want to date someone who is sixteen is it against the law in California?

    As long as both your parents and his parents are OK with it, the "dating police" will leave you alone.

    Actually there are no "laws" about dating, there are laws about touching a minor, and laws about having sex.

    As Chuck said the law does not address dating. Laws address sexual activity (which is illegal as you are underage) and they address parental interference (if your parents don't approve, he has to back off). But not dating.
