The following items have been replaced: The 2 top elements were replaced. The 1 Bottom element was replaced.
Limit switches on both top and bottom along with the Sequencers. However, the 1st Tech was not sure that the correct replacements were used, as the replacement's were the only ones he could find. When the system would not run after being put back together. The Tech then replaced the programmable T-stat which had been working fine up to this point.
When the unit would still not work the inside blower fan and capacitor was replaced.
At this point in time a 2nd Tech was called in to assist with the problem. After working about 2 1/2 hours on the unit he decided to install a relay using the C and G terminal on the top of the control board to activate the relay. This allowed the blower fan to come on in high speed.
When the T-stat was set to cool and the inside blower came on finally, The fan on the outside unit started and began making a loud grinding noise. The 1st Tech checked it out and said that it needed to be replaced also. All he could find was a used motor to put on the outside unit, plus he said that he had to repace some parts out side that were in need of replacement.

So everything except the control board has been replaced. I have started from the breakers and checked each wire and put it back to the correct terminals according to wiring diagram. My wiring diagram shows a relay between the line side of the transformer and the motor. It also says the following "Refer to the relay box instructions for T-stat connections. Heating and cooling may be wired on the same speed using either a relay or jumper wire"

If I am correct in my thinking, I can install a relay like the diagram shows. And do away with the control box I hope.

So for being so long winded

    Thank you
    Joel
